Glinvy is not yet publicly released. This page describes the current app implementation. The fictional website sample runs in your browser and does not upload screenshots or chat text. Cloudflare hosts this website and processes connection information to deliver and protect it.
The short version
Contact details hidden first
Before a screenshot leaves your iPhone, its top bar and detected phone numbers and emails are masked. Masking can miss details elsewhere in the chat; check before sending. The contact name you save stays on your iPhone.
Your chats aren’t for sale
No selling, no ads, and your chats are never used to train AI models.
Deleted on your schedule
Decodes are saved on your iPhone, not on our servers, and deleted after 30 days by default. Pick 7, 30 or 90 days, or keep them until you delete them.
No tracking
No ad trackers, no data brokers, no following you across other apps.

Who we are
Glinvy is made by Hung Dang Cong, an independent developer (“Glinvy”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Questions: conghung0720@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account
- When you continue with Apple or Google, we receive a user ID and the name and email you choose to share (with Apple this can be a private relay address). That you confirmed you’re 18 or older is saved on your iPhone, never your birthday.
- Chats you decode
- The message text, time gaps and context you add, sent to create readings and reply drafts. We don’t store them on our servers. The readings and drafts are saved on your iPhone.
- Your own recent texts
- With “Learn how I text” on (the default, in You › Privacy), up to 12 short texts you sent in other chats saved on your iPhone go with each decode, only so reply drafts match how you type. Not stored by us. Turn it off any time.
- Screenshots
- Read on your iPhone first. To tell who said what, a smaller copy is sent to our AI provider with the top bar (name, photo, number) and any phone numbers or emails blacked out. Other content in the chat, like names written in messages, photos or stickers, is sent as it is, and so is text you type or paste. We don’t store the images. Screenshots you share to Glinvy from Photos wait in Glinvy’s private folder on your iPhone until you open the app, then they’re removed from it.
- Names and photos you set
- Your profile name and photo, and the name and photo you give the other person, are saved on your iPhone only. Our AI never sees them.
- Your style
- Tone, boundaries (“never suggest”), reply language and app language. Saved on your iPhone and sent with each decode so replies sound like you.
- Usage
- How many decodes your account ran today, to apply fair-use limits.
- Purchases
- Apple handles payment. RevenueCat tells us whether your subscription is active. We never see your card details.
- Support
- What you send when you email us.
How we use it
- To read your chat, create readings and suggest replies.
- To check your subscription and apply fair-use limits.
- To show a heads-up when a message asks for money or secrecy. This check runs on your iPhone.
- To answer your emails.
- To fix bugs, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
We don’t sell your data, share it for advertising, or use your chats to train AI models. We don’t read your chats unless you email one to us.
How AI is used
To decode a chat, the text and the prepared screenshots are sent over an encrypted connection to our servers on Google Cloud and to OpenAI, which processes them only on our behalf. We ask OpenAI not to store them, and OpenAI doesn’t use them to train its models. OpenAI may retain them for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, or longer when required by law. Images flagged by safety systems may be retained for review. With each request we send a one-way hash of your account ID so OpenAI can spot abuse, never your name or email.
You can turn this off at any time: You → Read chats with AI. Decoding needs it on.
How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Decodes: chat text, readings, reply drafts | On your iPhone, for your “Keep decodes for” setting: 7, 30 (default) or 90 days, or until you delete them. Not kept on our servers |
| Text and screenshots sent for decoding | Not stored by us. OpenAI may retain them for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, or longer when required by law or for flagged safety content |
| Account, subscription status and usage | Until you delete your account. Usage counts reset every day |
Your choices and rights
- Delete one decode in History.
- Change how long decodes are kept: You → Keep decodes for.
- Delete your account: You → Delete my account. When completed successfully, it removes your sign-in, your RevenueCat customer record, usage data and everything Glinvy saved on this iPhone. It can’t be undone. Apple manages your subscription, so cancel it there.
- Delete everything on this iPhone but keep your account: You → Delete all my data.
- Ask for a copy of your data or a correction: email conghung0720@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you can also access, correct, delete and port your data, object to or restrict processing, and complain to your data protection authority.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). On our servers Google Cloud encrypts it at rest, and access is limited to the people who need it. Decodes saved on your iPhone are encrypted by iOS while your iPhone is locked, and you can lock Glinvy with Face ID.
Adults only
Glinvy is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If we learn we have, we delete it.
International transfers
Our servers and OpenAI process data in the United States.
Changes
If we make a meaningful change, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
